The Man of Action

NetballThe following letter was published in the Timaru Herald:

Several readers have recently noted that if voters choose wisely, then Timaru could have two MP's in the next Parliament. I'd be bold enough to go a step further and suggest that if voters really were wise about their choices, then they could have two Timaru based MP's, not just in Parliament but in Government.

My party has already made a commitment to work with a National led Government following the Elections and if I were to be elected then I would gladly work alongside Jo Goodhew to champion the causes of the Rangitata electorate.

Julian Blanchard, on the other hand, has become increasingly critical of Goodhew's performance as a local MP and I doubt a constructive relationship could be formed between the two.

In an earlier letter (1st November), Blanchard stated that the electorate needs people of action, not someone who will write letters. By being a prolific letter writer, Blanchard inadvertently concedes that he is not what the Electorate is after.

There is only one man of action standing in this electorate. He enjoys mountain biking, indoor netball and hiking among other pursuits. The other Candidate, it would appear, has been too busy writing letters.
